Clinical Pharmacology research 'without walls'

The new programme is collaborating with four global pharmaceutical companies - UCB Pharma, Roche, Novartis and Eli Lilly.

In addition to these collaborations, individual Fellows may work with other companies and organisations as appropriate to their research, under the guidance of their supervisory team.

An exciting opportunity

By bringing academic and industry partners together, we are potentially accelerating Stratified Medicine and Drug Safety discoveries.

Fellows enjoy access to technologies, new compounds in development, and activities that would not otherwise be available to academic researchers.

This includes opportunities to design and run efficacy and safety studies in healthy volunteers and patients; and identification / validation studies of biomarkers essential for stratification of medicine.

In keeping with the 'research without walls' motif, Fellows can consult freely and creatively with our industry partners, in ways that suit their research interests and needs.

Fellows will also spend between 3 and 12 months working in industry settings to gain a true breadth of experience. Where this involves working at a site outside the North West, financial support will be available to help with the extra accommodation and travel expenses.
