Once upon a time, two fair maidens dragged fairy tales kicking and screaming into the 21st century in this sharp and original review of all things “happily ever after”. Follow the trail of breadcrumbs into the mind of the MakeyUppers where you will stumble across the stories you thought you knew…they may not be as sweet as you remember. 'Topical, 'hilarious' and 'face-achingly original'- these Derry girls have been wowing audiences across the UK and Ireland.

The MakeyUppers are Gemma Walker-Farren and Sorcha Shanahan. They are both professional performers and theatre makers and in these times of #MeToo, #TimesUp, and #IBelieveHer they felt they were being called to action and Alternative Bedtime Stories is the result. They have managed to put their skills to good use as they have been in great demand to perform sketches from the show at community centres, schools, conferences and seminars, and were thrilled to perform at Belfast City Hall on International Women’s Day earlier this year. They have also performed the show for politicians and dignitaries at the Irish Secretariat and have been invited to various festivals including their recent sell out show at Carlisle Fringe and successful run at Edinburgh Fringe where they received 5* reviews.
