Visits and Talks

Visits by Liverpool geologists and geophysicists to schools and colleges

We are keen to visit schools and colleges to talk to groups of students about careers in the Earth Sciences or to provide help and advice about applying to university to study the Earth Sciences.

We are also able to offer talks about various Earth Science topics. Talks are aimed at AS and A2 students and a list of the talks available may be seen by clicking here.

If you wish to book a talk and/or visit then please contact Lindsay Davies.

Visits by schools and colleges to see Earth Sciences at Liverpool University

We are happy to organise tours of our facilities for groups from schools and colleges. Tours not only cover the Herdman and Nicholson Buildings but also include a visit to see the extensive facilities in the new award-winning Central Teaching Laboratories (CTL). It is also possible to arrange a talk or practical activity for your students during their visit to give them hands-on experience and the opportunity to apply scientific techniques to rock, mineral and fossil specimens.

If you would like more information about arranging a visit and/or talk or practical activity please contact Maggie Williams by sending an email to: hiatus@liv.ac.uk

“We'd be delighted to arrange a visit meet you and talk to you and your students.”
