About

Personal Statement

I came to ULMS from a background in Political Science and International Relations with previous appointments at European University Institute, University of Swansea and Queen Mary, University of London. I received my Ph.D. in Political Science in 2008 from University of Birmingham. I am a political economist with research interests across a range of subject disciplines in the Social Sciences and Humanities.

My work focuses on Global Political Economy and its variegated organisational forms. My research revolves around the multifaceted and multiscalar set of processes that have become commonly known as "financialisation" as a set of transformative and crisis-prone processes in the world economy. I am also interested in other transformative processes and how they are responded to, such as technological and climate change. I teach Global Political Economy and supervise postgraduate taught and research students on a range of topics.

I am an elected member of the University of Liverpool Senate committed to improving the governance of the University.
