Brett Centre for Entrepreneurship seminar Prof Neil Aaron Thompson

As part of its ongoing Seminar Series, the Brett Centre for Entrepreneurship led by Professor Robert Blackburn, offered a warm welcome to Professor Neil Aaron Thompson (Associate Professor in Entrepreneurship and Organisation Studies, Vrije University, Amsterdam) to the Management School on Wednesday 27 March to present a talk entitled 'Towards a Practice Theory of Entrepreneurial Expertise (EE)'.

As a researcher committed to developing new areas of research and scholarship in entrepreneurship, Neil delivered an incisive and engaging presentation aimed at advancing theory on EE, including raising questions surrounding the concept of ‘expertise’ within the entrepreneurship field.

Chaired by Dr Anup Nair, this stimulated a lively and informative discussion amongst participants, with further considerations for research and practice.

Neil also had the opportunity to visit the environs of Liverpool, as well as discuss further collaborations with the Brett Centre and meet staff and research students from the Management School.

After the event, Professor Blackburn commented "Neil’s visit allowed time for a compelling seminar presentation, the sharing of experiences of entrepreneurship education at the VU Amsterdam and the planning of future events. We are extremely grateful for his visit to Liverpool".
