AI and Emerging Technologies research event

The University of Liverpool Management School's Operations and Supply Chain Management Group and the Centre for Supply Chain Research are hosting a full day research event on artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies, with Professor Meng Li from the University of Houston.

During the event Professor Li will deliver a research seminar on 'AI in Operations Management' and introduce the FT50 journal Journal of Operations Management (JOM) special issue on 'Emerging Technologies in Healthcare' , followed by a research workshop focused on the latter.

If you are a University of Liverpool researcher or PhD student, this is an excellent occasion to gain expert insights from Professor Li on how to publish AI related research in top journals.

You will also have the opportunity to present your research and seek advice from Professor Li regarding potential submissions to the JOM special issue.

Research Seminar: ‘AI in Operations Management’

The event will start with a research seminar on 'AI in Operations Management' delivered by Professor Li.

AI has a significant impact on the operating processes of numerous companies, as well as on our daily lifestyle.

Spurred by the increasing availability of data, the rapid development of learning algorithms, and new optimisation methodologies, an increasing number of researchers are focusing on and studying the impact of AI on the nature of operations.

During the seminar, Professor Li will discuss and develop a framework for AI and review the literature in the interface of AI and operations management.

He will also identify and highlight several future research directions regarding AI from the operations perspective.

Journal of Operations Management special issue: ‘Emerging Technologies in Healthcare’

In this talk, Professor Li will introduce the ongoing JOM special issue titled ‘Emerging Technologies in Healthcare’, from the perspective of an editor.

Professor Li will elaborate on the key specifications, focuses, and expected standards of quality, and will answer questions from participants on their potential submissions.

Journal of Operations Management special issue – research workshop

The talk will be followed by a workshop on the same topic, where several researchers will have the opportunity to deliver 20-minute presentations on the JOM special issue, ‘Emerging Technologies in Healthcare’.

Professor Li will provide comments after each presentation to enable authors to further improve their research.

If you would like your research to be considered for presentation at this workshop, please provide the title and abstract of your research when completing the registration form.

Register and submit your research

Please, be note that submitting abstracts to this workshop and papers to the JOM special issue are independent activities; you do not have to present your research at this workshop before submitting it to the JOM special issue.
