Graduate Teaching Assistant Ph D studentships in Mathematics starting in 2013

The Department of Mathematical Sciences of the University of Liverpool invites applications for Graduate Teaching Assistant Ph D studentships (GTA's), starting in September 2013.

GTA's will spend most of their time working towards a Ph D, but the teaching assistant duties will take up between 60 and 80 hours in each teaching semester, with a maximum of 8 hours in any week. The award is fully funded, with fees paid, and a salary in line with that paid to students funded by the research councils. We expect to have two positions for Home/EU students, and one for an overseas student.

Candidates can apply to work in any area of Mathematical Sciences with an agreed supervisor - see our complete list of sample PhD projects available in the department.

The deadline for receiving applications is 7 April 2013. All shortlisted applicants will be invited to interview, although we may to talk to those who have already visited by phone or via skype. Please apply online. Mention the GTA positions in the box about possible sources of funding. If you have already applied for a Ph D, an email to us to indicate that you wish to be considered for these positions will suffice. For general information, please contact Ms Farrell (safrell@liv.ac.uk).
