YellowCardCentre Mersey

CSM Mersey has changed its name to YellowCard Centre Mersey

The CSM Mersey Regional Monitoring Centre has changed its name to YellowCard Centre Mersey (YCC Mersey). Our role in processing Yellow Cards has also changed. These changes follow the Report of an independent review of access to the Yellow Card scheme and coincide with the implementation of the new Sentinel IT system at the

Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

There are no changes in the way Yellow Card adverse drug reaction (ADR) reports should be made. You can report a suspected adverse drug reaction by:

Posting completed Yellow Cards to:

Completing an online Yellow Card at:

MHRA

CHM Freepost

London

SW8 5BR

www.YellowCard.gov.uk

Yellow Cards with the CSM Mersey address on will be automatically redirected to this central MHRA address. Receipt of all Yellow Cards will now be acknowledged by the MHRA in London. The new system is designed to enable faster processing of the Yellow Card data and more rapid detection of possible drug safety issues.

In light of these changes we are currently updating our website. In the meantime you can still obtain the current and previous editions of our publications, just follow the links below.

Pandemic Flu

Please click here for information on pandemic flu and how to report suspected adverse drug reactions to antiviral medication.

With the increased usage of antiviral medicines (tamiflu and relenza) for the treatment of swine flu the MHRA has put place measures to monitor the safety of these important medicines. Suspected side effects to antivirals, and when available H1N1 swine flu vaccines, should be reported via a dedicated internet-based reporting system, the ‘Swine Flu ADR Portal’. The MHRA has developed this Portal to sit alongside the Yellow Card Scheme and act as the main channel through which healthcare professionals and patients/carers can report suspected side effects.

Further information for healthcare professionals is available here
