Alpine Hillwalking

We have visited CERN many times, and also gone to the Alps for summer hillwalking; stayed places like Samoens, Bonneval and Annecy.

Here's a picture of the Roc d'Enfer, which is near Samoens. It's a classic ridge walk, comparable to Crib Goch, say.

The following pictures were taken on hikes near Villars, August 1997.

Here's a ridge leading towards les Diablerets, near Villars. The rock was very rotten and treacherous.

Here are Julia and Owen on a minor summit near the Miroir d'Argentine, with les Rochers de Naye in the background.

Near the previous summit here's a nice piece of knife-edged ridge.

This is the Grand Muveran and the Petit Muveran from a ridge leading to a another summit nearby. The Grand Muveran is a possible day hike but very long.
