3rd Research Staff Conference
Career Development in Academia and Beyond – Realising our true potential
University of Liverpool, Foresight Centre, 2nd June 2011

Dear Researcher,

I am delighted to invite you to our 3rd Research Staff Conference on Thursday 2nd June 2011.

This year’s event will focus on the career development of Researchers. Three parallel sessions have been arranged to give you the opportunity to explore career development both within and outside Academia. We realise that the current climate demands that all researchers should enhance their expertise in order to realise their true potential. All sessions in this year’s conference have been designed to give you the space and time to consider your own development.

Appropriate information will be provided by experienced presenters; we recommend you use and discuss this information in order to plan your career. A range of support services in the University have been developed to help you along the way. The day should offer you the opportunity to take full advantage of these services.

In my session I will discuss with you the University’s ambitions and plans within the wider research environment. We are actively responding to significant changes in Higher Education and the funding landscape, and we know that the input of our research staff is essential to our future success.

I would like to invite you to participate in this year’s event. The format of the day will offer you the opportunity to contribute your ideas and share your concerns, and learn more about how the university can support your ambitions.

I look forward to seeing you there.

Yours sincerely,

Professor Dinah Birch
