Neurosciences Research Unit

The Neurosciences Research Unit is sited in the new Clinical Science for Research and Education Centre on the University Hospital Aintree site, five miles from the main University campus.

The Clinical Sciences Building at Aintree HospitalStaff include a Professor of Neurology, a Professor and Senior Lecturer in Neurosurgery, a Professor of Pain Science, two Senior Lecturers in Neurology, two Lecturers in Neurology and a Senior Lecturer in Neuropsychology.

The majority of the staff are clinicians within the National Health Service who hold honorary University appointments. The Pain Research Institute undertakes research into pain, and some of its members also hold honorary University appointments. The Research Unit has an established record in clinical trials and outcome assessment in epilepsy and other neurological disorders. It also has laboratory facilities and access to a full range of clinical investigative facilities.
