What was your background before starting our Liverpool MBA?
I completed my bachelor’s in computer science from G.L Bajaj Institute of Management & Technology, Noida India.
Prior to joining the Liverpool MBA programme, I was working in a company in India. I have five years of work experience in the IT industry, primarily focused on writing and maintaining codes for website enhancement and development.
Why did you decide to study for an MBA?
I decided to transition from my role as a developer to a position where I could manage developers.
Considering my ambition to move towards the management side, obtaining an MBA seemed like a viable pathway.
What do you feel has been the most rewarding element of the course?
I believe in the value of a diverse classroom environment and the enriching interactions with highly knowledgeable academics and experts.
What do you do when not studying?
Since I am new to this country, I usually take some time out to explore new places, try out new food and interact with local people to learn more about the place.
I enjoy leisurely walks around the Albert Dock and eating out at restaurants on Bold Street.
What advice would you give to someone thinking of studying for an MBA?
Pursuing an MBA is a significant decision that can greatly impact your career trajectory.

Interacting with guest speakers has been an enriching and enlightening experience.
Their depth of industry knowledge and expertise has illuminated current market trends and challenges while also shedding light on potential opportunities.
Hearing about their professional paths, the decisions they've taken, the outcomes of those choices, and the hurdles they've overcome have provided invaluable insights into various career trajectories and strategies for navigating them.
Networking with these speakers has opened doors for expanding my professional connections.
These interactions have facilitated access to opportunities and relationships that may not have been readily available otherwise.
What skills and knowledge do you feel you have developed?
Continuous learning is an integral part of life, and vital for growth and development. Throughout my MBA, I've been presented with numerous learning opportunities, courtesy of my fellow students, academics, experts and through self-guided studies.
In particular, I've:
- Honed my leadership skills. Group projects during the MBA significantly contributed to this development, offering practical experience in leading and collaboration
- Enhanced my strategic thinking abilities, and I intend to continue refining them. I've learned to dissect complex scenarios, identify central concerns, and design efficient strategies
- Developed my networking skills. I've acquired the skill of building and maintaining meaningful professional relationships, which is invaluable in the business world
- Made significant strides in articulating ideas clearly and convincingly. This ability to express thoughts with clarity and persuasion is another crucial element I've had the chance to work on.
These are just a few key skills that I've had the chance to either develop from scratch or further refine during my MBA journey.
What aspects of the programme have you enjoyed most?
I enjoyed interacting with the diverse cohort and got to know about their journey, past work experience and learning from their MBA experience.
Also, the knowledgeable and experienced academics and experts have significantly contributed to my learning. Their guidance and mentorship have been instrumental in deepening my understanding of various subjects.
Networking events have helped me connect with professionals from different industries, expanding my network and opening doors to potential job opportunities.
What are you enjoying most about living in Liverpool?
My time in Liverpool has been truly enjoyable, with the city's rich history and culture providing a stimulating backdrop.
I've found the people here to be exceptionally friendly, further enhancing my experience.
The city's diverse culinary landscape has been another highlight, offering a delightful array of food options.
The passionate support for football that pulses through the city is tangible and engaging, even for those who aren't avid followers of the sport.
Additionally, Liverpool's vibrant nightlife, with a wide variety of pubs and clubs, adds a lively dimension to my stay here.
