    Personal Statement

    Chris Florackis is a Professor of Finance in the Management School of the University of Liverpool. He has previously held part-time positions at the Universities of York and Bristol. He holds a first-class degree in Economics from the University of Crete. He also holds an MSc in Economics and Finance and a PhD in Economics (with specialisation in Corporate Finance), both from the University of York. His research interests range from Corporate Finance and Governance to various aspects of Asset Pricing and Risk Management. Dr. Florackis currently serves as an Editor for the journal Corporate Governance: An International Review.

    His research work has been published in a series of international peer-reviewed academic journals, such as the Review of Financial Studies, Management Science, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Empirical Finance, Journal of International Money and Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance and the European Journal of Operational Research. He has also received research funding from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) to study the risk behaviour of boards of directors, and also from the Bank of England (BoE) to study the impact of stock market illiquidity on economic growth. His research findings have been presented into high quality academic conferences-workshops organized by central banks, think-tanks and research organizations e.g. Bank of England, INQUIRE (Europe&UK), American Finance Association (AFA), American Accounting Association (AAA), Society for Financial Studies (SFS Cavalcade North America), Financial Management Association (FMA), and European Financial Management Association (EFMA).
