As Head of Pharmacovigilance Quality, Seqirus, I knew that studying for an MBA at the Management School would give my degree a global focal point as I refocused my career and gained a deeper knowledge of supply chains, global economic trends and policies.

I was also aware of the personal benefits I could gain such as acquiring new skills and setting fresh challenges and objectives for myself.

Why did you choose the University of Liverpool Management School?

The University of Liverpool is an exemplary university that holds a very special value with the company I work for, Seqirus. Many colleagues that I work with graduated from the University of Liverpool and spoke highly of their experiences.

The university also ranked highly on The Economist, Which MBA? global ranking among other highly rated universities and had both the AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS accreditations.

How do you feel your MBA prepared you for your current role?

I have gained a certainty in my knowledge that allows me to operate more confidently and effectively across all levels of the hierarchy at work. Which has allowed me to demonstrate my abilities as a leader with ease.

Through the MBA, I gained experience and skills that empower me to navigate complex challenges at work and the real-world practice I gained, has been instrumental in positioning me to strategically approach operational problems and opportunities I encounter.

Did you receive a scholarship? If so, what impact did that make?

Yes, as I was self-funding this was greatly appreciated and eased the financial burden.

What aspects of the programme did you enjoy the most?

Every aspect has been enjoyable as the whole experience is new and ever-challenging.

Describe your MBA experience in two words.

Challenging and gratifying.

What advice would you give to someone thinking of studying an MBA?

I completed my MBA part-time so needed to readjust in the second year with the new cohort of students.  For that reason,  I'd advise anyone interested in an MBA to choose the full-time course where possible.
