Aims |

1. To increase awareness of, and ability to make judgements on, matters of intonation. 2. To develop understanding of the theory involved in tuning decisions and apply to their own performance development. 3. To develop practice methods for progressing technical areas for performance. 4. To increase awareness of relation between technique and repertoire choices. |

Syllabus |
|
The syllabus consists of two strands, each of which are organised around the needs and prior experience of students. Individual lessons and group sessions will develop students' technical skills on their own instrument through an appropriate choice of repertoire and development of practice methods. Group sessions/online activities will also develop students' listening skills through hands-on experience of aural work and understanding of historical tuning systems. |

Teaching Method 1 - Practical Teaching Method 2 - Seminar The majority of teaching will be delivered face-to-face on campus. Online delivery will be used to complement the on-campus delivery and where technology affords a better learning experience. |
