Aims |
|
The module gives students a final-year experience in performance, with formative assessments throughout the year, and a summative assessment at the end of first semester, leading to a major performance event at the end of the second. Students will craft their performance techniques to a higher level and should be working towards a professional standard. In this way, the module aims to support students wishing to go on to related postgraduate courses (performance/directing) or otherwise launch into a life involving music-performance of whatever variety. |

Syllabus |
|
Module content will depend partly on the student's specialism and also on the combination of students in the group. Module staff may use a short questionnaire at the end of second year in order to determine what students will be in the group from the beginning of third year. One-to-one lessons will be with a specialist tutor in the relevant area. Large group sessions may cover topics such as stagecraft, reflective development, popular music analysis, professional development, social media strategies, collaborative writing and arranging, and rehearsal strategies and techniques, and will also involve peer-review of performances. |
