Aims

The module aims to give students a final-year "capstone" experience in music technology, with formative assessment at the end of first semester leading to a final creative project at the end of the second. The module aims to support students wishing to go on to related postgraduate courses or jobs related to music technology.


Learning Outcomes

(LO1) To develop a reasonable and effective design methodology.

(LO2) To hone practical skills needed to implement a substantial technical or creative project.

(LO3) To generate work that can be submitted as part of an academic or job portfolio.

Syllabus

 

Module content will depend on the student's proposed area of specialism. Module staff should be consulted at the end of second year in order to determine appropriate topics and methods for the beginning of third year. One-to-one lessons will be with a specialist tutor in the relevant area. Large group sessions may be used to cover generic areas such as common technical methods and technical implementation, system design, and related concepts. Instruction on the web-based presentation of the final portfolio will be provided.
