Teaching and Learning Strategies |
Lecture - The lectures are designed to introduce you to the core content of the syllabus. They will introduce you to the key areas of law relevant to the substantive topics and highlight the legal issues that will be examined further in your seminars and through your independent studies. |
Seminar - The seminars (four x 1.5 hours) complement the lectures by providing the opportunity to explore key issues in greater detail and to apply the law to hypothetical scenarios. Seminars will also include a focus on developing key legal and transferable skills. You will be required to prepare key reading and discursive questions in advance. Working in small groups, you will also be asked to apply your knowledge to unseen tasks designed to test your knowledge and cultivate key legal skills (such as problem solving and group negotiation). |
Tutorial - In addition to lectures and seminars, you will have the opportunity to attend a series of three one-hour “drop-in sessions”. These sessions will enable you to discuss any queries or problems that you may have relating to any aspect of the course as well as focusing on enhancing your key skills. |
