Aims |

To stimulate the academic interest of students in a complex and evolving area of law; |
Learning Outcomes |

(LO1) Evaluate the functions of the trust in specific socio-legal contexts and the implications this has for social justice |

(LO2) Summarise the role equity has played and continues to play in the contemporary legal system |

(LO3) Evaluate the practical implications for individuals of the operation of Equity & Trusts in England and Wales, e.g., with reference to the ownership of the family home. |

(LO4) Analyse complex legal statutory material, case law and academic writing. |

(LO5) Appreciate the social and economic (especially fiscal) context of trusts. |

(LO6) Apply theory and doctrine to contemporary legal problems. |

Teaching and Learning Strategies |
|
Learning and teaching on this module will be structured in accordance with synchronous lectures and seminar sessions. Lectures run for 2 hours a week for the 11 week cycle . Seminars run for 90 mins at equal intervals across the 12 week term. •Seminars - 8 x 90 mins sessions across the terms (4 per semester) Each of the below is the topic of a 90 min seminar and 2-6 hours synchronous lecture content.
