Aims

To develop critical thinking around the legal framework governing the reduction of financial crime. To stimulate the academic interest of students in a challenging and vibrant area of law. To develop the ability to work independently and as part of a team to a high level of aptitude. To develop the ability to engage in the current academic debates surrounding international responses to financial crime.


Learning Outcomes

(LO1) Demonstrate an understanding of international legal principles relating to financial crime.

(LO2) Demonstrate a critical understanding of the effectiveness of policies adopted by international institutions aimed at reducing financial crime.

(LO3) Describe, and critically evaluate, the role of European Law towards the prevention and detection of financial crime.

(LO4) Undertake effective research in the field of financial crime.

(LO5) Present an effective argument both orally and in writing.
