appropriate Be able to make a critical judgment of the merits of particular arguments and make a reasoned choice between alternative solutions or arguments Subject specific outcomes: At the end of the module, students should be able to: demonstrate thorough knowledge of the legal principles underpinning the developing policies at EU and national level on NCD prevention; demonstrating thorough understanding of the relationship between EU law and national law on NCD prevention; demonstrate critical awareness of the broader constitutional, policy, ethical and cultural implications of using legal instruments to prevent NCDs and promote healthier lifestyles; locate and handle appropriate legal and non-legal materials; carry out research on Law and NCD Prevention in Europe; draw analogies and comparisons between different sectors of EU intervention on lifestyle risks (tobacco, alcohol-related harm, unhealthy diets, lack of physical activity); engage in comparative research, asses
sing the extent to which experiments in different countries could be used elsewhere.
