Teaching and Learning Strategies |
|
This module is taught through 24 hours of general language classes, when possible including listening comprehension in the language laboratory. These 24 hours can be divided between synchronous and asynchronous learning activities as needed. Students practise and consolidate the structures and vocabulary of intermediate level via a variety of activities: reading and listening, conversation, discussions, presentations and writing and note taking exercises. The classes will be taught in Chinese for the most part. Students are expected to attend all classes, to contribute to weekly learning activities, such as discussion boards, to hand in homework and to submit the portfolios on time. Students will work through the assigned exercises independently or in groups as directed by the tutor. The module offers much accompanying material, including online resources, which can be used for independent study at home or in the library. Regular feedback forms an integral part of the module. The majority of teaching will be delivered face-to-face on campus. Online delivery will be used to complement the on-campus delivery and where technology affords a better learning experience. |
