Aims |

To develop an elementary competence in reading, writing, listening and speaking Chinese; To provide students with an understanding of elementary structures of Chinese grammar; To develop an independent understanding of the culture and society of China; To develop some intercultural understanding. |

Teaching and Learning Strategies |

Teaching method 1 - seminar. The majority of teaching will be delivered face-to-face on campus. Online delivery will be used to complement the on-campus delivery and where technology affords a better learning experience. |
Syllabus |

Elementary module in Chinese language: grammar, translation and written and spoken communication. The syllabus can be found in the module handbook which can be accessed through CANVAS. Students are issued with a weekly schedule for the module at the beginning of each semester. |
