The translation work will include analysis of published translations in order to deepen the students’ critical evaluation of translated texts into Italian. The listening activities are designed to develop students’ aural and visual comprehension and appreciation of pragmatic and performative aspects of oral communication which are culturally specific. The topic-based discussions will form the basis for oral and written production. The choice of topics will give students the opportunity to investigate aspects of Italian culture and society. The discussion will be based on the reading of an Italian novel or collection of short-stories as well as the media. |
