Teaching and Learning Strategies

This module is taught through 24 general language classes, divided between synchronous and asynchronous learning activities, as necessary. These include reading, writing, listening and speaking exercises and grammar teaching and practice. Students have a chance to consolidate and practise the structures and vocabulary acquired in conversation, discussions, short presentations and short writing and note taking exercises. Russian will be the main language of teaching in class. Students are expected to attend all classes, to hand in homework and the portfolios on time and to work through the assigned exercises independently. The module offers much accompanying material, including online resources, which can be used for independent study in the library. Regular feedback forms an integral part of the module.

Syllabus

Introductory course in Russian language: grammar, translation and written and spoken communication. The syllabus can be found in the module handbook which can be accessed through CANVAS. A weekly schedule for the module will be issued at the beginning of the semester.
