Teaching and Learning Strategies

Seminar:
One hour of AV translation, one hour of translation into Italian and one hour of topic-based discussion. The translation work will include analysis of published translations in order to deepen the students’ critical evaluation of translated texts. The topic-based discussions, focused on the reading and analysis of a contemporary Italian novel, will form the basis for oral and written production. The choice of topics will give students the opportunity to investigate aspects of Italian culture and society. The students will be able to pursue specific personal interests and to present their findings in an oral presentation.

Weekly hours of oral-aural practice, of translation and of topic-based discussion and written practice.

Tutorial:
Individual 15 minute tutorials are available in week seven to receive feedback and discuss learning strategies.
