Teaching and Learning Strategies

Seminar:
The methodological approach is varied, with different classes teaching different skills: The grammar classes will revise, consolidate and expand on the main structures and grammatical functions of the Portuguese language which were covered in previous Portuguese modules, particularly PORT256. The language skills classes will work in conjunction with the grammar classes to allow students the opportunity to practise and build on their knowledge and use of Portuguese. Students will complete exercises related to reading, listening, writing, and translation skills. The oral classes will consolidate knowledge and contribute to achieving greater accuracy and fluency in spoken Portuguese. The tutor will prepare activities and will use a variety of media to provoke discussion. The classes are intended to be lively and as spontaneous as possible, and students are encouraged to participate actively.
