Aims |

To build on advanced language skills in all four areas of language competence; To develop more specialised language and cultural competences of the kind required in the year abroad (practice and vocabulary of the working environment in the Italian context will also be analysed); To provide students with a sound understanding of complex structures of Italian grammar, lexis and syntax; To develop students' language learning strategy use and reflective approach towards language learning. |

Relevant texts will be selected from a variety of textbooks and will be supplemented by authentic materials distributed by the tutors. Topics will be selected on the basis of their relevance to Italian culture and society (i.e. the media, fashion and design, leisure time and consumption, social changes). |
