Aims

To introduce the methods of presenting and communicating a critical analysis of sociological concepts and theories;

To introduce the field of sociological research;

To introduce the techniques of data production in the social sciences.

Teaching and Learning Strategies

Teaching Method 1 - Lecture
Description: Interactive lectures covering major themes.

Description: Students complete exercises, participate in debates and read texts to explore the foundational aspects of the module.

Description: Discussion boards within the module VITAL page is used to debate matters of interest arising from lecture and class sessions and to debate, discuss and reflect upon varius aspects of the module.
