Aims

To apply the learning from the pre-requisite modules in a work-based environment and under supervision.


Learning Outcomes

a substantial knowledge and understanding of key aspects of the technical topic of their project including the theory, fundamental principles and best practice.

an ability to justify an enquiry-based approach as a means of developing leadership and management capability.

an ability to design and undertake an enquiry-based approach to learning and development.

an ability to evaluate and deliver the outcome of enquiry-based learning.


Syllabus

The work of each student will be directed and supervised by individual supervisors.
A suitable subject for the work-based project will be agreed at the start of the module between the student, the student''s employers and the individual supervisors. The topic should allow the student to apply their learning from the pre-requisite modules.

A set of supporting lectures will be provided to help students plan and deliver their project, and to prepare for each assessment stage, including literature search and review; developing a suitable plan; statistical and optimisation techniques; survey research methods, research presentation.

Projects must be started a maximum of 6 months after the start of the module and be completed in 6 months

A project proposal will be due 1 month after the start of the project.

Final stage assesments will be a report and oral presentation with Q&A session due 6 months after the start of the project.
