Aims

To further develop the ability to identify, plan and undertake independent research in the field of nuclear science and engineering, in particular to acquire the knowledge, skills and understanding to support a PhD-level programme of research in an identified topic.


Learning Outcomes

Ability to identify, plan and undertake a substantial research project with a high degree of autonomy.

Produce a detailed scientific report on their research including justification for undertaking the research and the potential for exploitation.

Display their knowledge of the research topic and defend their choice of research direction, the conclusions drawn and their vision for exploitation of the results in an oral examination.


Syllabus

Research studies within the field of nuclear science and engineering in support of PhD project approved by the NGN CDT.
