On successful completion of the project, the student should be able to show experience and enhancement in various analytical, modelling, experimental or workshop techniques, depending on the topic and scope of their project. Students will also demonstrate enhanced understanding of, and expertise in, underlying scientific theory relevant to their own project. |

In this module students undertake a 300 hour individual research or design project under close supervision by a member of academic staff, and in partnership with technical and research staff of the School. |

Final stage (85% of module): 50 page report(50%) + 40 minute oral / interview (20%) + evaluation of quality of project work throughout the module (20%) + assessment of project log book (10%); All elements marked jointly by Supervisor and Assessor. Students will be fully briefed on all apsects of assessment during the lecture series, and there will be detailed guidance published on VITAL. . |
