Aims

  1. To teach the principles of virtual reality systems, visualisation techniques and simulation practice to an intermediate level.

  2. To give an appreciation of the role that visualisation and simulation plays in the development of new or exisiting products to an intermediate level.


Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of the module, students should be able to demonstrate an intermediate knowledge and understanding of modern product visualisation and simulation techniques.

On successful completion of this module, students should be able to demonstrate an ability to deploy techniques to produce intermediate level product visualisation and simulation.

On successful completion of this module, students should be able to demonstrate an ability to design and construct a virtual environment to an intermediate level.


Syllabus

1. Introduction to Module
2. Students split into groups
3. Group based visualisation and simulation project conceived
4. The first semester will include the development of a virtual environment.
5. The second semester will include the simulation of that environment.
6. Each group will present their work to the cohort.
