Aims |
|
To develop knowledge, understanding and mastery of the main concepts of the subject and the main models used. To develop analytical skills in applying the concepts and models to real-life examples. To stimulate an appreciation of the challenges of managing new product development and the importance of this function to the success of organisations. |
Learning Outcomes |

(LO1) On successful completion of the module, students should be able to demonstrate knowledge, understanding and mastery of the nature and importance of technological development in commercial organisations with particular reference to new product and service development. |

(LO2) On successful completion of the module, students should be able to demonstrate knowledge, understanding and mastery of processes in New Product Development. |

(LO3) On successful completion of the module, students should be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of how organisations attract and use creative people. |

(LO4) On successful completion of the module, students should be able to demonstrate ability in applying knowledge of the above topics to describing and explaining qualitative aspects of New Product Development. |

(LO5) On successful completion of the module, students should be able to demonstrate ability in applying knowledge of the above topics to applying the principles and methodologies of New Product Development to examples of products, market sectors and companies. |
