Aims

To develop the ability to undertake independent research in the field of nuclear science and engineering, in particular to acquire the knowledge, skills and understanding to support a PhD-level programme of research in an indentified topic.


Learning Outcomes

(LO1) Ability to undertake a substantial research project with a high degree of autonomy

(LO2) Produce a detailed scientific report on their research

(LO3) Display their knowledge of the research topic and defend their course of investigation in an oral examination.

(S1) Synthesis of the basic principles of the subject area of the project

(S2) Practical skills relevent to the project area

(S3) Time management and working towards deadlines

(S4) Problem identification and problem solving
