Aims

1 To allow students to gain experience and awareness of the nuclear industry's operations.
2 To train students in skills required to evaluate and communication scientific and technical information from research investigations.


Learning Outcomes

(LO1) Ability to prepare and present a short research talk.

(LO2) Ability to critically analyse a research publication.

(LO3) Ability to communicate research to the general public

(S1) Synthesise and communicate knowledge from a number of sources

(S2) Problem solving and quantitative analysis including computational skills

Syllabus

 

Synthesis of knowledge of a particular topic and its use in a short research talk.
Performance of critical analysis of research publications.
Preparation and presentation of research slides.
Extraction of the salient points from literature and communication to a lay-audience through a public engagement activity.
