Aims

To offer structured learning activities and to support students to choose and plan their learning under close supervision.

To introduce students to authentic research experiences, allowing them to pursue active enquiry and to develop research skills which will be transferable to academic and other professional settings.

Syllabus

 

Students will carry out a 4 to 12 week research project under the supervision of a member of UoL staff associated with the School of Environmental Sciences.


Teaching and Learning Strategies

Weekly Supervision Meetings: These are regular one to one meetings with the supervisor to discuss project and assignment planning, and progress towards meeting the learning outcomes

Project Work - This refers to available time for project work

POSTER PRESENTATION The presentation will be made to a group of internship peers in a multi-disciplinary mini-conference. Each 10 minute presentation will be followed by a 10 minute discussion.  10 minutes    50       
PORTFOLIO The portfolio will comprise an overview of the research work completed during the internship (1000 words), discussion of the areas of learning achieved for the duration of the internship (  -2500 words    50
