Aims |

This module aims to prepare students entering the work environment by providing them with the skills required to secure either an internship or a graduate job. |
Learning Outcomes |

Students will gain the ability to critically reflect on and evaluate their skills in relation to prospective employers’ requirements and identify their development needs; |

Students will gain the ability to research career opportunities relevant to their degree specialism in relation to their own career aspirations using a range of media and approaches; |

The module builds on the employability focussed topics that are introduced COMP 107 and develops them in the context of preparing one or more specific job applications. The module is organised in 12 two hour long sessions, led by prospective employers, and in permits students to cover more in depth some of the issues introduced by COMP 107. Employers or Careers led sessions - Will run weekly and each session will last 2 hours. They will cover a mixture of completion of application forms, interview techniques, cv workshops and sourcing employer information. Students are expected to attend at least 8 sessions, unless extenuating circumstances are applicable |
