Aims

To offer structured learning activities and to support students to choose and plan their learning under academic supervision.

To introduce students to authentic research experiences, allowing them to pursue active enquiry and to develop research skills which will be transferable to academic and other professional settings.

Learning Outcomes

(LO1) On successful completion of this module students should be able to demonstrate experience of engaging in an authentic research project.

(LO2) Review and provide insight relating to the research area of interest, including formulation of research questions, application of most appropriate research methodologies and ethical considerations.

(LO3) Evaluate findings and present rational conclusions

(LO4) Work effectively as part of a highly specialised team of academic and research staff

(LO5) Communicate and present research findings both verbally and in writing taking into account disciplinary standards and expectations
