The aim of the module is to provide a greater awareness of the capability of Excel in the financial environment.

1. An introduction to the Excel environment and Excel functions for dealing with textual data,
2. Statistical analysis using Excel,
3. Using Excel to model asset returns, portfolio analysis and optimisation,
4. Estimating the CAPM using Excel,
5. The fundamentals of matrix algebra using Excel,
6. The fundamentals of bond pricing using Excel,
7. Investment appraisal using Excel,
8. Option pricing using Excel and an introduction to VBA,
9. Determination of the optimal hedge ratio,
10. Forecasting sales using Excel.
