Aims

To introduce students to the key concepts within marketing and personal branding;

To develop students’ knowledge and understanding to enable them to reflect upon the ways in which they might best market themselves with in the football industry, eg interviews, CVs and media;

To provide students with the skills to enable them to prepare themselves for interviews and enhance their career potential.

Teaching and Learning Strategies

Teaching Method 1 - Lecture
Description:

Notes: Standard lecturers will be delivered over a 3 day block period. Class discussions and activities will be encouraged (public speaking and media training sessions)

Teaching Method 2 - Seminar
Description:

Notes: Guest speakers from within the football industry will add to the traditional lecturing format. An opportunity for Q+A with expert speakers will be provided.

Teaching Method 3 - Group Project
Description:
Attendance Recorded: Not yet decided
Notes: Opportunities will be provided for unassessed group work during the course of this module this involves media interviews and feedback, practice of public speaking and feedback, and groups working on case study examples.
