Aims

The aims of this module are to provide the students with the ability to develop team work, individual presentation and group presentation skills.
Students will also be given an opportunity to develop an awareness of themselves as finance professionals, to reflect on their professional development in terms of strengths and weaknesses and to develop key employability skills aligned with employer expectations.

Teaching and Learning Strategies

Teaching Method: Seminar
Description: The seminar/ workshop will be designed to allow time and space for meaningful discussion of topics related to the professional development of students. The module leader will take the role of facilitator. The seminar/ workshops will include guest lectures and/or other activities led, for instance, by the Careers and Employability service focused on professional development. Group and individual presentations will take place during the seminar/workshop hours. The classroom should be spacious, with the possibility of flexible arrangements of the furniture (for instance seminar 2 in ULMS).

Description: These independent learning hours are aimed at supporting the directed student learning. The module leader will provide guidance in the form of suggested readings and topics to examine with the expectation that students are well prepa red to contribute to the seminar/ workshop activities. Self-Directed Learning will include research activity, developing academic writing skills, and wider reading to support the module.
