Aims |
|
The module aims to critically engage students with a current architectural topic and though research and tutorials undertaken both in groups and individually, develop a design for a given topic or brief. Students submit drawings, written reports and models that are presented to a review panel made up of staff and other students for open forum discussion |
Learning Outcomes |

Students should demonstrate a developing design agenda, an awareness of current architectural matters and the ability to resolve a given brief. |

Coursework | Semester 1 | 100 | Yes | Standard UoL penalty applies | Assessment 1 Notes (applying to all assessments) Portfolio review + work display (100%) and additional material (sketches, models, drawings, etc.). Assessed by studio tutorial staff involved, moderated by other school staff and external examiner Assessment: Portfolio is marked as a body of work. Students defend their design portfolios in interim and final reviews to a panel of both internal and external visitors. Summative feedback is given at the end of the reviews. Assessment of design portfolios is undertaken by not less than two internal examiners and is then moderated by at least one internal examiner (normally the Head of School) who has not taught on the module. The External examiner reviews all modules and programmes. |
