    Personal Statement

    I am a teacher and researcher in Portuguese language and Lusophone studies with extensive teaching experience, having designed and delivered a variety of Portuguese language, culture, and literature courses at all levels of undergraduate study, and in several universities.

    My qualifications include a degree (“Licenciatura”) in Modern Portuguese Language and Literature at the New University of Lisbon, Portugal; and a Masters degree (“Diploma de Estudios Avanzados”) in Portuguese and Galician Philology and Cultural Identity, with a specialization in Portuguese and Galician Literature and Visual Arts, at the University of Vigo.

    I have also written a monograph on the Portuguese poet Adília Lopes, entitled Poesia XXI: Adília Lopes, which was published in 2016 by the academic press Imprensa da Universidade de Coimbra. I have published on Portuguese and Galician literature, and I have also produced research on the topic of Literature in Language Learning.

    I am the co-founder of the Litinclass Website and the co-organizer of the Literature in Language Learning Conference at the University of Liverpool.

    My teaching is research-led and I am keen on exploring the possibilities of bringing Lusophone literature and visual arts into the classroom. To find out more, please check the video.
