Vacation Message & Email Forwarding
Outlook allows you to set an automatic response to emails that you receive while you are away from the office and you can also forward your emails to another email account

To set a vacation message:
- In Outlook select to Tools | Out of Office Assistant...
- In the Out of Office Assistant select I am currently Out of the Office and then enter the message that you want to be sent on your behalf to anyone who sends you an email while you are out of the office, in the AutoReply only once to each sender with the following text: box.
You can also set Outlook to forward your emails to another email address while you are away by specifying a rule. For an explanation of what rules are please see the Email Forwarding section below.
- When you are satisfied that you have set the correct options in the Out of Office Assistant, click OK.
Email Forwarding
If you want to forward your University email to another email account then this can be setup via the University Portal
- Login to the Portal
- Click on the E-mail/Diary tab
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen, and follow the on-screen instructions to setup forwarding
Please note:
- You can only forward to one email address from your University email account, you cannot forward your mail to multiple accounts
- More than one University email account cannot forward to the same external email address. For example you cannot forward emails from two different University accounts to the same hotmail address
- If forwarding to another University account then enter the address in the format username@liverpool.ac.uk
