INFORMATION - REFERENCE - BIBLIOGRAPHY

This bibliography provides a wide-ranging overview of many important materials relating to the understanding of black Atlantic cultures. It will continue to grow as the site develops. Through this bibliography we are seeking to facilitate an interdisciplinary understanding of issues and debates relevant to black Atlantic cultures and the black diaspora, and provide an embarkation point for further understanding, exploration, and research into these areas.

This bibliography has been split into 7 sections:

Some of these entries are linked to other online resources:

Each section is ordered alphabetically either by author or title (excluding the words ‘the’ and ‘a’ at the beginning of titles), and each list is searchable using alphabetical links.

(The original version of this bibliography was kindly contributed by Tate Liverpool from the ‘Afro modern: Journeys through the black Atlantic’ exhibition catalogue, and was compiled by Fiona Baker and Melanie Grant.)
