Fortran 90 3 Day Course


Development of this course has been carried out by the Computing Services Department and is funded by JISC New Technologies Initiative


This 3 day course has been developed as an introduction to computers and computer programming. This course is suitable for those with little or no experience of computers although an understanding of an editor would be useful.

The course covers the following topics: introduction to computer systems; computer programs; Fortran evolution; source form; attributed declarations; expressions; control flow; arrays; procedures; modules; user defined types; parameterised data types and basic I/O.

The main components of the course are the OHP slides, the Lecturers Guide the Student Notes and a set of Exercises. In addition to these, there are instructions for use, a syllabus and a resource list.
